Read the event report here.

The Goon Show LIVE! at the Hunter Valley; THE ideal Father’s Day gift for the Dad whose bad jokes still terrorise everyone in the family. The Goon Show is chock-full of the best British comedy, so give it back to him with this dinner and show.

It was a memorable night indeed; terrific comedy from the pen of Spike Milligan, and this delicious Goons-inspired menu, including Eccles cakes – of course!

The three episodes featured for this Hunter Valley dinner and show were;

  1. The Batter Pudding Hurler; …Bexhill-on-Sea is terrorised by the Dreaded Batter Pudding Hurler who randomly strikes down villagers with batter puddings straight from his portable gas oven. Constable Ned Seagoon sets out to track down the fiend.
  2. Napoleon’s Piano; …The story of a devious plan to steal Napoleon’s piano from the Louvre and take it to a London apartment.
  3. The Greenslade Story; …Greenslade is usurped by The Famous Eccles as a BBC Radio announcer.

We took Grytpype-Thynne, Moriarty, Henry, Min and the famous Eccles, all off the the Hunter Valley – and even Bluebottle, although he is really too young.
